The Scotch College Drumline have been around as part of the Military Band since 1959 and are one of the oldest school/cadet based percussion sections in Australia. The Drumline has not always existed in the form that it does today. It began with traditional low tension slung snares and a bass drums and over the generations has grown to include 4 tuned basses, 4 high tension snares, a set of quint tenors and 3 cymbals.
The Drumline has toured to the UK and China with the Military Band, performing at Blenheim Palace and Windsor Castle amongst other amazing highlights, and regular performs in ANZAC Day services in Melbourne, the Annual Cadet Tattoo at Scotch College, the Optimum Percussion Eisteddfod and the Scotch College Foundation Day Concert at the Hamer Hall.
In 2011 the Drumline placed second at the Optimum Percussion Eisteddfod and are looking to best that effort and establish themselves as the premier school drumline in 2o12.
